This is a Japanese made small-body 24.5" scale semi-hollowbody guitar, only slightly larger than a Les Paul. The back, sides and internal center block are all formed out of the same piece of mahogany, which was cut and shaped and then had the sound chambers routed out. The top is a beautifully flamed AAA grade Koa, and the lustrous golden-burst finish brings out a deep, rich 3D flame. The "f-holes" are a unique psuedo-cat's-eye shape. The top is triple-bound. The neck is one piece mahogany, and the bound, 22-fret fingerboard rosewood. Abalone and Mother of Pearl block inlays form a stylized "Y" block that reverses at the twelfth fret, familiar on the high-end instruments in the Alvarez-Yairi line. The headstock is also bound, and faced with a flamed Koa veneer. The "Alvarez" script on the headstock appears to be gold leaf. The tune-o-matic style bridge, pickup covers and Gotoh tuners are gold plated and of a high enough quality that they exhibit virtually no wear after 19 years. The pick guard and truss rod cover are cut from brown tortoiseshell celluloid. It comes with a formfitting, maroon hardcase with "Alvarez" stenciled in gold on the top. Alvarez produced the three models in the Summit line for only one year. This is a high end guitar - absolutely gorgeous and in perfect condition.
