Vantage VP 795

Vantage VP-795 with Seymour Duncan JB and an Ibanez Super 80 pick up, and Gotoh bridge. The original Gotoh pick ups are long gone, and original bridge is missing a saddle. The neck is set glued and lag screwed under the neck pick up. The bridge pick up was wired for coil splitting, but originally the wiring was for a pick up to be series parallel/phase switched, hence the two mini toggles. These play great, and have the feel of a Gibson of the same era. This one has the sound of a Gibson too having the 24.75\" scale, and humbuckers. The woods are maple, walnut, and Japanese Ash outer body wings, and a maple neck (5 piece). The Vantage cases allow the pick up selector switch to be easily broken, so this is a common issue with these old now Vintage 30 year old guitars in the used market. A short Switchcraft, or Import 3 way on-center both on-on switch can be used as a replacement. The Gotoh bridge and studs are a drop in replacement for the Matsumoku Vantage 7mm post/8mm stud bridge. The measurements are all pretty standard Gibson spacings, but bridge saddles and hardware was not standard, but somewhat improved over the old 4mm/6mm post stuff. The fit is much better than most guitars, and finish is wonderful. It sports a nice brass nut, and brass saddles, rosewood f.b. and MOP dot inlays. Frets are a medium jumbo nickel silver. Action and feel are almost identical to a late 70s Gibson Les Paul Std.
