made at the Matsumoku Plant in Japan this Mint condition extremely rare guitar is one of the most versatile best playing guitars you can find. You will never see another one! The back of the body is cut away to contour your body. The low action and speed are incredible. It has 2 humbuckers that can each be split to single coils and a 3 way toggle switch for endless configurations of sounds. It has neck through body design with ebony fretboard. Ash body. Most have a regular style trem (like a fender). Mine has the locking nuts & a good kahler Flyer tremolo.

Not only is it a rare stage series but also a rare BBR (Black Black Red) Series. Its the black one with red pin striping. Truly one of a kind. You will never see another one like this. The guitar feels fantastic with a narrow profile, low action and great access to the upper frets. If you are a fast player, you will appreciate what you can do with it. The kahlar bridge does a great job of holding it in tune and bar is not in the way at all when playing. The versatility is second to none as the ability to split both pickups individually gives you many combinations of possibilities including a front single coil strat sound. The custom case fits the guitar like a glove and look great together with a plush red interior to match the guitar perfectly.

Here is an email I received from a gentleman that is writing a book on the lost years of Washburn. "Sorry for the late reply. Boy, if you do not need to sell it---KEEP IT! OYou really have a rarity there. The BBR instruments were unique & only made in 84-85. That you actually have the name A-20?K (for your Kahler trem) on the truss rod cover makes it even more rare! Never lose that cover either. In years of searching for all things Washie vintage, I have NEVER come across that model name."
