Gibson (made in Kalamazoo) Epiphone Casino Guitar.
This instrument plays and sounds great, stays in tune and has the original P-90 pickups and, as far as I know, all original electronics. The body and neck is in very good condition with normal wear, but no cracks or major scratches or dings. It does have 2 small screw holes near the bridge where there was a synth pick-up installed. The finish is original cherry red and has very little clouding or checking.
The serial number is 846355 which would indicate 1966 or 1969 as they used same numbers in both years. The bridge is not original as it is a roller bridge for use with a Bigsby. I do not know if the Bigsby and bridge were factory installed.
I have owned this instrument since 1983 and it seems to sound better every year, characteristic of a full hollow body. I had a vintage dealer check this over and they found no major defects and verfied the condition. The newer installed tuners are Goto’s and are very good. The truss rod works well, and controls are not noisy.
The case is a nice hardshell case but is not original and probably is of eighties vintage. Fret wear is minimal for the age of the instrument but will probably need a fret leveling in the future.
