I am not sure of the date or maker, but it resembles Regals from the 1930's that I have had before. This tenor guitar has some very nice features and some rough spots. First the issues: several cracks that have been cleated and stabilized, one front lower bout right and several on the back. There is some separation on the base bout front and back. The separation has not increased in the past 12 months. The back had apparently been removed at some point and had not been perfectly realigned. Now the nice stuff. This is an older tenor, and the action is not bad at all. The tone is very nice and it stays in tune. The tuners and all parts (except the nut) are original. The nut crumbled and I replaced it with a decorative bone nut, with a pretty spiral pattern carved into it. The lower front, under the bridge, has a very chearful and pleasant rose pattern. I do not think it is hand painted. The fret board is not worn and the frets are good. I believe the general construction is maple. It is bound front and sound hole. It has seen better days, but still has a lot of play left in it. It would also make an extremely nice decorative piece.
