1943 Gibson L 50
This guitar is no longer for sale (sold on 2007-10-03)
Price : US $1,000.
This is a vintage 1943 Gibson L-50 hollowbody guitar, strung left handed. Guitar was Gibson verified, by the 'Only a Gibson is Good Enough' logo. This was my grandfathers, bought new in 1943. UPDATED - There appears to be a very small hole on the opposite side of the pick guard, so I can only assume this is where the pick guard was originally mounted.. (Thank you for pointing that out!!) This tells me the guitar was originally strung right-handed, and converted to left-hand. The guitar is very playable, and in good condition, having been played for 60 years, including playing with Earnest Tubb back in the late 70's.
There are a few knicks and scratches, and normal wear. As far as I know, the tuning knobs and all other parts are original. Guitar was stored for the last 8 years, and needs new strings. I will ship the guitar in a newer case, and will ship with Insurance. Guitar will ship after the sale is completed and funds are verified. Thanks for looking!
