Vintage 1962 Airline National Supro Valco Guitar
This guitar is no longer for sale (sold on 2007-10-02)
Price : US $400.00
This is a 1962 Airline guitar. All of the popular solidbody Airline's, National's,and supro's from the 50's thru the mid 60's were made by Valco. The guitar is in fairly good condition but definately shows its age with it's share of small dings and some of the black edge paint has chipped exposing the red undercoat. The headstock logo is missing as is one of the metal covers that hide the neck bolts. The neck is good with minimal fretware (D chord) It has what looks like the original chipboard case. These big valco/airline/supro/national pickups look like humbuckers but are single coil like a P90. Guitars with these pickups are rapidly becoming known as great slide guitars, and are the same pickups that give the white stripes their sound. On almost every gig, someone asks me what kind of guitar was i playing slide on. (all valco/supro/airline/national) I need $ so i'm letting 2 of my valco's (supro/airline) go. Shipping $ will be determined at the end of the auction.(Actual cost $5 for packing materials) Insurance is optional but recomended. You can go to UPS.com and use the approx. weight and dimentions provided. Good Luck!
