1955 National 1155 Gibson J 45 Acoustic Guitar
This guitar is no longer for sale (sold on 2008-06-27)
Price : US $1,975.
This is a very rare 1955 National Model 1155 in very good condition. From 1948 to 1961 National Guitar Company made
under an agreement with Gibson, an acoustic guitar that combined a
Gibson J-45 body and a bolted on National-made neck. The body has all the specs of a vintage Gibson J-45 which it is: Solid Spruce top with sunburst finish, solid mahogany back and sides. There are no cracks anywhere. Great player with beautiful old 50's Gibson tone. Action is good at 1/8' at the 12th fret to LowE string. Neck is straight. There are some minor dings and scratches which I have tried to show in the pictures. Everything seems to be original. Includes OHSC in picture. Serial # is X59958. Number on heel block inside guitar body is W1480-3.
Regarding the question about the top bracing: On closer inspection it appears that the top bracing may be tapered whereas the bottom appears to be scalloped. However, it is difficult for me the see the ends of the top bracing very well so I might be wrong.
