1975 ONE OF A KIND B.C. RICH SEAGULL
IN 1978 I WAS IN LEO'S MUSIC IN BERKELEY CALIFORNIA I SEEN THIS SEAGULL HANGING ON THE WALL. I HAD BEEN READING ABOUT B.C. RICH BEING THE ''ROLLS ROYCE OF GUITARS'' AND DECIDED I HAD TO HAVE IT. LEO'S TOLD ME A RECORDING STUDIO SPECIAL ORDERED THE GUITAR BUT THEY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS AND NEVER PICKED IT UP. A LITTLE WHEELING AND DEALING WITH A SG TRADE AND I BROUGHT IT HOME.
I ALWAYS PLAYED A GIBSON SG BECAUSE OF THE NECK, I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE RICH NECKS, AND I STILL DO. THE ACTIVE CIRCUIT WOULDN'T WORK SO I CALLED TO THE FACTORY IN L.A. AND TALKED TO A GUY NAMED NEAL. HE TOLD ME THAT B.C. RICH NEVER BUILT A SINGLE PICK UP GUITAR. HE ASKED ME FOR THE SERIAL NUMBERS AND I TOLD HIM THERE WERE NONE. I COULD TELL HE WAS CONCERNED THAT THERE WAS SOMEONE BOOTLEGGING SEAGULLS. HE ASKED IF I COULD MAIL THE GUITAR OR BRING IT TO THEM. I SAID SURE AND TOOK A PLANE DOWN TO THE FACTORY.
THE FACTORY AS I REMEMBER LOOKED LIKE A BUNCH OF STORAGE UNITS IN AN INDUSTRIAL AREA, NOT WHAT I HAD IMAGINED. I WENT IN AND MET NEAL MOSER. I KNEW HE COULD TELL IT WAS A FACTORY GUITAR BUT HE TOOK IT BACK TO BERNIE RICO TO LOOK AT IT.
