Up for auction is one left handed Martin D-16RGT acoustic guitar. In the interest of time and space saving, all specs for this particular guitar can be found at  http://www.martinguitar.com/ and if it were me that's where I start if I am looking for a Martin guitar!

I bought this new from SouthPaw in Houston around 2004 when I went looking to purchase my dream guitar, a D-18.  I had my heart set on a D-18 but the cost was more than I could afford at that time. Jim suggested a D-16RGT and the more I A/B'd them the more I came to like and even believed it was the better guitar tonal wise! Now of course we are humans and sometimes we have the ability to tell ourselves that something sounds just as good as something else to justify our lack of funds! But if you cant afford a D-18 or higher up Martin then pass up the DX's and the D-15's and jump on this because the difference between this and a D-18 is so minute but the difference between a D-16RGT and a DX or D-15 is like a grand canyon difference! Having said that, I will say that now, having recently purchased a 1980's D-18 I stand by my statement! I cannot feel or hear any difference between an ebony and micarta fingerboard and bridge....but I am not Eric Johnson.

Basically this has a solid spruce top,  solid rosewood back and sides, not laminated, a mortise/tenon neck joint, neck and body binding. The only noticible nick is at the headstock as you can see between the N and & you wil
