This guitar is no longer for sale (sold on 2007-09-30)
Price : US $5,250.
Beautiful and rare Hamer 4 Digit Standard. # 0150, stamped January 1979. This is an early one and maybe the cleanest available. A few nicks here and there but in very good condition.
Two cases: one original and one newer Hamer case for safer shipping. New 6105 frets and Tone Pros bridge (original in case) Set-up by Eric Chaz in L.A. I put on dark amber knobs but the original blacks are in the case.
The playability is outstanding and the tone is warm and smokey - Jeff Beck Truth LP! The neck is a full medium at the nut and tapers a little thinner to the higher registers. This guitar is surprisingly lighter weight and super resonate. Hamer does it right now by I LOVE these early guitars.
There is some overspray on the back of the guitar. This guitar has been throughly examined by Eric Chaz @ Eric's guitars and he can't find any issues with the guitar - at all. No breaks, no neck re-set, no headstock repair - nothing. I am not at the caliber of him but I do have a good eye and I can't see anything either - nothing. We have come to the conclusion that the back must have had belt buckle rash or the neck was scratched up by a heavy bracelet and the previous owner must have wanted the back as nice as the top. It is an excellent professional job, possibly done at the Hamer factory and would not be noticed by almost anybody. However, this guitar is serious investment quality and so everything must be disclosed. As a member of the Hamer Fan Club I have seen many 4 Digit Standards and this is the 2nd cleanest one I have ever seen. It is well known by collectors and thought of as a very desirable early Hamer.
Remember, #0150 would
