Antique Acoustic Guitar: Collectors Piece
This beautifully carved, antique guitar came from an Arkansa Estate, and there’s no telling how many porches in the Ozarks this oldie has played on! It is estimated that this guitar was made around the turn of the century (c.1900).
As with many antiques, this guitar’s character is shown with some marks of age, the most prominent injury being a 16cm (6.5”) hairline crack in the body (see photograph). Despite this, the guitar is in solid condition as it is a well-made instrument. It still sounds and plays wonderfully, although it is in good need of re-stringing.
There is a patent 2.029A34, however, there are no markings on the body to indicate or identify the maker.
The guitar is sold with The Original Guckert’s Chords for the Guitar At Sight (By E.N. Guckert), published by Union Music Publishing Company, Copyrighted 1919 – which is, in itself, a collectors item for the avid guitarist.
