Up for auction is a 1965 Fender Musicmaster II

I'm selling this item for a friend who's family member had passed away and he was original buyer/owner. The Fender was purchased late in the summer of 1965.............the features are as follows:

Alder body with original Dakota red finish, pearloid pickguard, 1 pickup, 1 volume and 1 tone control, maple neck with Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, Kluson deluxe tuners with white buttons. Serial #  L79263 . Guitar is 100% original and has its original tag. Guitar comes with the original case.

Fender dated their instruments at the 'butt' of the detachable neck this Fender is dated 8 Sept 65B----Serial number on neckplate  preceded with an 'L'. Considered Pre-CBS (even though CBS bought Fender in January 1965). Sometimes an 'L' serial number can be seen on a late 1962 model. March 1962 to 1965: Ink stamp in dark blue or red ink below the truss rod adjustment at the butt end of the neck in 'XX MMM-YY W' format. The 'XX' is not the day of stamping. Instead it is a code for the type of neck (for example, '02'=Stratocaster, '3/4'=3/4 scale Musicmaster). The 'W' is the neck width where 'A' is the narrowest, 'B' is normal, and 'C' is the widest.

The guitar looks to be in good shape, it has a few chips (see the last 2 pictures) and the Dakota Red paint has cracking throughout the finish from it's age I'm told. it's been sitting in various closets since the middle seve
