Beautiful 1978 Double Neck. Mahogany body with a two piece maple top, maple necks, and ebony fretboards. This was the seventh model brought into the United States, so it is very early production. All parts are gold-plated and in excellent shape. The frets are in excellent shape. The original guitar had two micro-switches where each pickguard presently sits. They would literally cut your fingers while playing! They have been removed and are still in the case. The pickguards are applied with a pin-head drop of silicone and are removable without a trace. The only irreversible alterations are two coil-cut micro-switches placed in the volume-tone ensemble (see picture). There are small finish stress cracks in the neck joint, but they are in the finish only. This is the best playing, best sounding guitar I've ever owned. I'm just getting too old to lift it. It weights 18 pounds without the case. I originally sold this guitar while working in a music store in 1978 and bought it from the original owner in 1980, so I have known of its whereabouts for the past quarter of a century. I have taken immaculate care of it. There are a few minor scratches and wear. The original 6-string nut has been replaced with bone. Other than that, there is no damage other than the two holes drilled for the coil-cut switches. The case is in very good shape. The handle has been replaced. Compare the two corner pictures and notice two metal corner cleats are missing on one end. Later models were listed as an AR1200 and had an ash top rather than maple. One sold recently for $2500.
