This is a rare vintage pre-war 1941 Gibson ES-300 electric archtop guitar with original hardshell case in excellent condition with Gibson white label serial number 97027 and factory order number 3369G ink stamped on the inside back. Approximately only 147 of these guitars were made in 1941, the last year of production, and it is extremely rare to find one in this original and excellent condition. I have owned and enjoyed this guitar for over 10 years but I have decided to downsize my collection at this time.

This is truly a collector’s quality instrument. There are no cracks or repairs, and all parts are original as they came from the factory with the only exception being the pickguard which is a Mirabella exact reproduction tortoiseshell guard with aged binding to match the existing guitar binding. The original tailpiece is included but was removed years ago due to some stress cracks to the hinge points and replaced with a vintage original Gibson nickel tailpiece from an early 50’s ES-300.

The top and back are of a solid wood - carved archtop design, the top being solid spruce, and the back & sides being solid maple with a dramatic frame pattern. The top has very light checking and overall there are only a few minor nicks in the finish. The body still has its original wood sound posts located directly under the original wooded bridge. The neck has a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with original frets in excellent condition with no buzzing and lots of playing left. The neck itself is constructed of highly flamed maple with a rosewood stripe and has a perfect original neck-

Due to World War II , this series was manufactured with all plywood top, sides and back, because all primary wood was directed for military use until after the war.
