This auction is for a 1937 Martin model O-17T Tenor Guitar . This guitar is all mahoghany with a rosewood fretboard and bridge and a Tortoiseshell celluliod pickgaurd. The serial number is 67596 which dates it to 1937. The guitar has seen plenty of action as evidenced by the finish wear and fretboard wear but still has alot of life left in it. There is evidence of a previously repaired side crack but it's stable and should be fine for a very long time to come. The finish wear is pretty extensive but it also seems stable. There is quite a bit of fretboard wear (fingernail divots) and fretwear but it doesn't effect the playability too much and if it bothered you the frets still have enough meat left for a fret dressing. The neck is pretty straight and the guitar plays well and sounds very good considering the light string and small body size. It has the open back Grover tuners like the regular guitars of that period, not Uke keys like are on some tenors. They seem to work well and hold their tune although the strings are pretty old. I am including the yellow lined hard case seen in the pic. It is non-original and of unknown origin and is a bit too big but it protects it pretty well .Book value on these rare birds is between $1400-1600 so this could be a steal. I am starting this auction low so don't miss out on this one . I am not interested in trades or ending this auction early. I will provide shipping promplty upon receipt of approved payment. Payment must be made within 5 days of the close of the auction or I reserve the right to re-list or offer to others. Shipping anywhere in the continental US will be $30 which includes insurance and delivery confirma
