Vintage Epiphone Sheraton (Gibson 335) upgrades MIJ?
This guitar is no longer for sale (sold on 2007-10-19)
Price : US $360.00
Here is an older model Epiphone Sheraton. I think this is an early Korean model (late 80s?) or a late Japanese model. It has the 'Epiphone by Gibson' headstock.
This guitar is in very good condition. Some of the gold hardware is now nickel. Only some gold on the stop tailpiece. Nickel Grover tuning machine have been added (no new holes). Frets have lots of life left. Recently had a set up and dressed the frets just a bit. Guitar plays like a dream.
These older model Sheratons are the next best thing to a real Gibson ES-335. I think they are superior to what you would get at a Guitar Center today.
You will notice a large, disclored patch in the back of the guitar body. IMO, this is NOT buckle rash. It seems like it was just a bad finish job or something. This guitar is not marked second or anything. The back of the guitar is not scratched up. The guitar is in good shape cosmetically. Original hardshell case included. I have bought and sold many many many guitars. I ship on time and with great care.
One other quirk with this guitar is that the pickup toggle goes left to right instead of up and down. This appears to be a custom mod to prevent toggling on strumming.
