Price : US $5,212.
This guitar was in the same family for 50 years. It was passed on from uncle to nephew who now needs to sell this Gibson L-5 vintage hollowbody jazz guitar. Shows signs of age wear but overall it is truly in great shape. Plays and sounds fantastic. Original case. Here is a general description from top to bottom. Headstock in great condition and machine heads have been changed, but original ones are in the case in a baggy. The nut is perfect and the frets and fingerboard show no wear. I suspect a fret job may have been performed by the comparitively worn back of the neck and the fact that the neck binding is whiter than the body binding and the lack of wear. Neck does not appear to have been reset or any other major work done, although as I said, there is finish wear on the back of the neck. It sounds amazing as you can well imagine. The binding is tight and the overall finish is about a B- but with some TLC could move up a grade.
The original hardshell case is in decently sturdy but worn condition. Some latches are needing help. Guitar serial number is A210 according to the original mfctr sticker inside. Please feel free to ask all questions or come by for a personal inspection. Thanks and good luck on this great item. Selling as-is, but of course your satisfaction is my goal. Sincerely, mike carey
PS- absolutely only serious bidders please as this is my second time having to list it.
