Oahu Long Scale Lap Steel
This guitar is no longer for sale (sold on 2007-10-07)
Price : US $275.00
This is a 1940's era Oahu lap steel with an all mahogany body and neck. It has a 25.75' scale (bridge to nut). Overall it is in good to very good condition. The finish shows the effects of many years of playing, with most of the wear from some pick scratching near the high string an a number of small dings on the top. The back is really pretty clean with some light scratching. The only modification to the instrument are replacement tuning gears and a bone nut extension because I wanted to raise the playing height (it is easily removed if desired). It's got all of the original art deco knobs, pickup and electronics (the switch on the back cuts the output level). It comes with its original hard shell case which is in only fair condition, although all of the latches do work and it does a good job of protecting the instrument, but it's sure not much to look at. This is a long-scale instrument (like an Asher) and has great tone and sustain. This is a great playing steel and a bit of history. I'll even throw in a new set of strings.
Will ship to the continental US only. Shipping and insurance will be $30. Money orders, Cashier's checks or PayPal are fine. If you have zero feedback or less than 95% positive feedback, you must contact me first before bidding, otherwise I will cancel your bid. Tahnks for looking!
