Presented for your bidding consideration is a vintage Aquila Steel string Dreadnaught guitar model S-150. Aquila was one of the very old Favilla names used very early, then when the Favillas stop producing guitars they imported guitars from Japan and labled them in New York. This lable reads at the bottom 'Favilla Musical Enterprises' Made in Japan  Final Adjustments made in USA. Serial 11462.  I have owned several Favilla guitars and I must agree with everyone they were real competition for Martin. I went to the shop were the American Favillas were made when I was very young with my father who was friends with one of the Favillas and with the other luthiers who worked there so I guess I'm biased. Plus I grew up in Brooklyn and they also had a shop there not far from where I was born in Brooklyn Hieghts. It is rumored that these were made for The Favilla Fam. at the Takamine factory in Japan before they became Takamine but I'm not sure. The woods appear to be solid the top for sure, the back and sides appear to be rosewood. This gutar sounded HUGE but I put it away and just recently took it out and found the bridge had come away from the top thats what happens when you leave tension on the string for a long period it also has a minor crack on the top but just may be in the finish. Neck is straight frets and board are great tone is still wonderful. I hate to see it go but I'm still holding on to one Favilla The oldest I have ever owned 30's or 40's era nylon. Thanks for looking and good luck
