This auction is for a Rickenbacker John Lennon LE model 325 guitar. I purchased the instrument 13 months ago from a woman in Philadelphia who said her husband had purchased it new because he was such a Beatles fan, but didn't know at all how to play a guitar. She also said her son had taken it out many times but also didn't know how to play. If I were to guess, I'd guess either the son or the father or both had it out on occasion and pretended to be John to the CD of 'Hard Days Night' while they mimicked stage movements. I say this because the guitar does show wear including a few finish blems and also a scratch on the pickguard itself. You can see from the photographs the two paint chips in the headstock. There are some finish scratches in the back of the neck where it meets the headstock. These are just scratches. There are no cracks, breaks or repairs. Overall, otherwise, the guitar is in very good condition. The frets are in good shape, the fretboard is not worn. I bought it to play out at outdoor Summer concerts, all on large stages and with me it has seen only professional handling over maybe 15 shows and has never seen a smoke filled room. The case is actually pretty clean with the original plastic overwrap on the Rickenbacker nameplate. The interior is a little worn and still smells a bit of Philadelphia but I've aired it out and it keeps improving. The woman I purchased it from claimed she had the certificate but couldn't find it and promised to send it if she did, she hasn't and I'm not holding my breath. So it's this; You've got a Ric 325 Lennon LE offered for sale. It's 17 years old. I checked it with the Ric factory a
