Price : US $830.00
This is an Eastman AR805 fully carved archtop guitar. (Eastman is a China based company, long known for its carved orchestra instruments before it began making guitars a number of years back. This particular guitar was one of the early ones, as noted by the plain headstock.)
Specs: 16” lower bout, 24 ¾” scale, 1 ¾” nut width. Currently strung with Thomastik, flat wound. 12’s.
I’m the original owner, and though I’ve always been impressed by the tone and craft of this guitar, I found the electronics and set-up lacking. Subsequently, I made various modifications. Originally I had the frets re-leveled by a professional luthier. Later I replaced the pickup (Kent Armstrong with adjustable pole screws), pots, ¼” jack and all the internal wiring with a higher quality. This work was also done by a professional luthier. In the process I also added the tone control and placed it and the volume, with ebony volume knobs, on the pick guard. (In a gigging situation, I find this much more useful than tucked under the pick guard.) I also added a small piece of ebony to the bottom of the bridge for strictly aesthetic reasons. The case has had very little use.
I’ve have gigged with this guitar, so it has the minor dings and scratches that come with that, most notable are those to right of neck, but otherwise the guitar is in good condition---please see pictures. Most importantly it plays well.%2
