First, in the interest of absolute full disclosure, here's the story on this one:
I'm the first owner of this guitar. I bought it on clearance from GC not too long ago. It was on clearance due to the following issues:
- There was a gap at the heel of the neck where the putty had dried and cracked. Not a big deal for a Taylor due to the bolt on neck but still a cosmetic issue that caused them to mark it down.
- There is a ding on the top that you can see in the picture.
- There was a small piece of finish on the top along the fretboard that had started to lift up and there is some excessive pick scratches on one spot of the pickguard.
All of these issues are cosmetic only. The gap at the heel of the neck has been repaired by a Taylor authorized luthier and he also stabilized the piece of finish that had started to lift up. The ding is obviously still there. I've included a before and after picture of the neck pocket repair and an after picture of the piece of finish that had started to lift off the top.
The rest of the guitar is perfect. The neck is perfect and the frets are like new. The rest of the body (top, back, sides, etc) is perfect.
I picked this particular guitar in spite of these issues because it blew away every other guitar in the room. Loud, like a dread should be, but very articulate with plenty of headroom. The guy who did the repair work also gave it a killer set up. The action is as low as it can get without being buzzy. It is an absolute killer guitar. The problem is that, as many time
