Flawless, Handcrafted Electric Guitars Built with the Finest Materials Valley Arts was founded in North Hollywood in the early 1970s by guitarists Mike McGuire and Al Carness. Through retail, repair, teaching and custom manufacturing services, they built a clientele that included virtually every important guitarist in the L.A. area from Larry Carlton to Lee Ritenour to Tommy Tedesco. Now Gibson has re-created the legendary custom guitar line and 'pro shop' in Nashville with a full-line guitar store, repair service and manufacturing facility all in one. The Valley Arts Custom Pro combines classic looks and sounds with modern features and is built using only the finest materials, like figured maple, rare koa and tropical mahogany.
It's available in several different pickup configurations. The model here has a Seymour Duncan Alnico II humbucker in the bridge position and two Duncan Alnico II single-coils in the neck and middle positions for lots of tonal variety. These are set into a gorgeous quilted maple top and an alder body. The birdseye maple neck plays fast and is topped with a 22-fret ebony fingerboard.
Valley Arts Custom Pro Features at a Glance: Special 7/8-size guitar with trans blue finish . Three Seymour Duncan Alnico II pickups in H/S/S configuration Birdseye maple neck with rosewood fingerboard Quilted maple top over solid alder back Guitars with quilted maple tops have long been coveted for both their appearance, as well as their tonal properties. But it takes skilled craftsmen to make just the right cut to produce a beautifully figured slab of maple. Fortunate
