Vintage 1950 Gibson L 48 Acoustic Archtop Guitar
This guitar is no longer for sale (sold on 2007-12-22)
Price : US $560.00
Up for bids is a 1950 Gibson L-48 archtop guitar. The finish on this instrument is worn but original, as the photos show, but it still plays and sounds great. This guitar has a 16' lower bout, so it is very comfortable to hold: pick it up and you won't want to put it down! It has a solid mahogany top, mahogany rims, and a maple back. The tuners have been replaced with Grovers. The pickguard is missing. There is a section of the fingerboard on the bass side near the 12th fret that is slightly separated from the neck, but it seems to be stable, and does not affect playability at this time. There are no cracks in the top, rims, or back. The neck is straight, and not too fat. The trussrod works. Comes with a non-original chipboard case.
This guitar is showing its 57 years (and counting), but has that unmistakable Gibson quality, and will make someone very, very happy!
PayPal is preferred, but I also accept money orders and cashier's checks. I am not a store or dealer, so do not accept returns, unless the item is not as described. Use the photos as your main description of the instrument. The guitar will be well-packed, and will be shipped UPS Ground with insurance.
I am selling several other archtop guitars, so if this one isn't right for you, check out my other auctions. Good luck, and enjoy the auction!
