1958 Fender Duo Sonic and Champ amp duosonic tweed
This guitar is no longer for sale (sold on 2007-11-04)
Price : US $2,900.
This auction is for my 1958 Duo-Sonic and 1958 Tweed Champ. The guitar is in really great shape. The pots date to the 48th week of 1957, the neck is dated to February of 1958. There is one small spot of wear in the fingerboard in the first position under the g string. The finish is nicely checked, but is otherwise in really good shape. There are a few small dings here and there, but nothing major. The case is original and in very good shape as well. The guitar is unmolested. pickups, pots, wires, bridge, tuners, covers, paint, frets, pickguard, cap, etc. is all original. The Champ is very nicely restored. The head is clean and all original (transformers, caps, wiring, pots, resistors, grey power cord, etc.). The cab has been recovered and has new back panels (expertly done by Larry Rodgers) and a weber speaker. When I bought this, the head was obviously in good shape, but the cab was pretty rough. After Rodgers' restoration, it's as good as new. It's a nice pair, just like you might have bought back in the '50's. These days, what other 2 pickup '50's fender guitar and amp can you buy without breaking the bank? If you've got questions, send me an email.
