1990 Alvarez Yairi ''Vintage Dreadnought'
Artisan Sunburst Gloss finish, with Black pickguard and binding. Solid Spruce Top, Solid Mahogany back and sides. I believe Fingerboard and Bridge are made of Ebony, although I see grain in the bridge which makes me think it may be rosewood. The fingerboard shows signs of wear especially in the 1st position, as it is my first Real Guitar. It plays and sounds Great, no buzzing or dead notes all the way up the neck. It has always been set up with med/lt (12-54) strings. It has the usual nicks for a guitar of it's age, most are only nicks to the finish. The big nick on the top (lower left bout) is 80% finish with a tiny gouge in the wood 1/4' long. The finish is wearing off the sound hole near the well used pickguard. Looking really close I also see many pick scuffs in the finish around the pickguard. There are many fine hairline scratches in the gloss finish, they disappear in the right light. Scratches seem to appear more in gloss on the darkwood. The headstock has a few nicks at the top and one near the 3rd peg head. On the front off the headstock the finish is bubbling out beneath each tuner, a piece of the finish chipped off at the 4th tuner. The Orange pinstrip
