Jose Ramirez E1 Classical Guitar, 1989
This beautiful guitar resonates a rich, deep, full, mellow, and substantial tone—truly sonorous. I purchased it about 14 years ago from a music professor who had a side business selling Spanish guitars. He purchased it from Ramirez’s shop in Spain. I traded up on the tuning heads. The E1 comes with very gold and shiny tuning heads—not my taste. My professor allowed me to have the tuning heads from my guitar switched with some from a $3500 flamenco (which had a hole in its body from an accident). The result is this E1 comes with beautiful hand-engraved tuning heads, which I have pictured. They look far better and are of a far higher quality than (Fustero?) stock heads. They appear antique brass in color with the engraved areas in a delicate gold.
This Ramirez is in excellent shape. I have pictured the only major scratch. It is located on the bottom side of the body (if you are a right-handed player). The action on the guitar is superb, the finish is a mirror, and every time you open the case you will experience the most pleasing wood aroma.
The guitar comes in a ProTec travel case, in great shape. If I ever buy another case, it will be a ProTec. There is zippered side pocket and a sizable compartment within the case (held my strings, tuner, metronome all at once with much room to spare). There is also a shoulder strap, which is not pictured.&n
