Oahu Tonemaster Lap Steel

Price : US $395.00
Late 40ís or early 50ís Oahu Tonemaster lap steel with an all mahogany body and neck. It has a 25.825Ē scale (bridge to nut). Overall it is in very good condition with a some small areas of missing finish on the back, some pick scratching on the front and a lot of cool finish crazing (which I tried to capture in one of the photos). It has the original knobs, pickup, and electronics. The only modification is a replacement set of tuning gears (typical for an instrument of this age). These Tonemasters are among the most desirable Oahu lap steels due to the great cosmetics Ė the rope binding on the body and neck, chrome pickup assembly and cover -- and great tone. This is a long scale instrument (like an Asher), and it has a strong, bright sound with lots of sustain. It comes with its original hard shell case which is in good condition (it is structurally very sound, with working latches, a very good interior and is in decent cosmetic shape considering its age). The main wear/damage is to the fake leather trim on each end of the case, which has become brittle and has broken off. Donít miss your chance to own a great playing and sounding vintage lap steel. Iíll even throw in a new set of strings.
Will ship to the continental US only. Shipping and insurance will be $30. Money orders, Cashierís checks or PayPal are fine. If you have zero feedback or less than 95% positive feedback, you must contact me first before
