Price : US $1,425.
1975 Fender Stratocaster. Serial Number 654062. Olympic white, aged to a buttery pale yellow. Super dark rosewood fingerboard on a maple neck. Neck has maple non-skunk stripe on back, which I have not seen before on a seventies strat. 5 way switch is period correct to this guitar, although there were many variations around this time. Original frets were professionally leveled & dressed. Non original brass nut, Texas Special pick-ups, & one plastic string tree spacer. When I bought this guitar 4 years ago, I was told those were the only non original items, and I still believe it. Headstock shows evidence of other tuners at one point, but original tuners currently back on. Bass side of neck has one 1/2' chip in the clear at the 8th fret, which does not effect playability. Very good condition black tolex Fender case with logo has one repaired hinge. Definitely one of the heavier examples of a seventies strat with it's fair share of minor dings & chips to the clear after 32 years. Photos of under the pickguard were taken by the previous owner. I have no intention of disassembling this guitar since it has had a $300 trip to the luthier's and is superbly set up. I own several stratocasters and none of them have the tone of this aged wood. Make no mistake, this is a reluctant sale forced by another guitar project and a lack of room in the stable. This stratocaster is not a collector perfect piece, or something George Gruhn is going to put in a museum. The reserve is just over twice the opening bid and barely covers my initial investment. I have many more pictures and will answer any questions about anything I migh
