This is a beautiful looking and sounding 1966 Epiphone FT-85 Serenader. It has some honest play wear, but is in great condition overall and 100% original to the best of my knowledge.
The sound of this instrument is absolutely gorgeous--thick and singing. Songs seem to tumble out of it on their own. I have kept the guitar tuned a full-step down, as do many players of vintage 12-strings, and the action is great. Again, like many 12s, it gets a little higher than a 6-string on the upper frets, but nothing unusual.
In addition to liberal finish-checking, and some pick wear on the face and around the soundhole, there is one noteworthy blemish--a crack that was long ago repaired. Perfectly stable and a player's non-issue, but worth mentioning to the collector.
I initially bought this guitar with the intention of installing a pickup, but I couldn't bring myself to put a hole in it! Unfortunately, that means I haven't been playing it, since most of my playing is live these days. (The good news for you is that means I've only ever played it in our smoke-free apartment.)
The guitar will ship well-packed in a non-original chipboard case. Since it's a vintage unit, I am selling it as-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Also, just fyi, I'm going to add $10 to the shipping estimate since the actual cost always seems to be more than what the calculator says.
