Vintage Gibson acoustic guitar I believe dates somewhere between 1947 and 1954 due to the gold block silkscreen GIBSON logo. I confess that I know next to nothing about this guitar.
This is the information I have been told and to the best of my knowledge it is correct, forthright and honest... The body is mahogany, rosewood fret bar and nickel frets. Not original machine heads, tuning pegs? (obviously). There is a crack on the top as shown in the pictures and it was glued. The bridge is split all the way across. Other than the previous disclosures, the guitar is quite solid.
It's very hard to make out the identifying letters slightly visible through the sound hole. It looks like LOO, but I'm more inclined to say it's closer to LGO. They are very faded and all I can positively make out is the L, and there appear to be only 3 characters. See, I told you I haven't the slightest idea what I'm talking about.
Now for the measurements....The body is 19' tall and the narrow part that resembles Mae West's waistline is close to 9 1/2' across. The neck is approx. 20 1/2' long. The exterior depth is close to 3 1/2'. Twenty frets, six strings, and believe this; strings are all tight and it sounds pretty good.
If you have any questions, or would like more photos or measurements please email and ask. The only requirement I have for accepting questions (to accommodate my need to respond) is that you ask%2
