This is a 1965 Epiphone Cabellero featuring an all mahogany body and a slim, comfortable neck with a rosewood fingerboard. The bridge is rosewood as well, unlike later models which had a plastic one, and is firmly in place with no lifting or humping up. Neck is straight with plenty of fret life left. Tuners are original ,if one is slightly bent, and hold tuning well. The top is flat with no binding or warping issues. Just finish checking and its fair share of bumps and love marks from 49 years worth of playing. There is a pretty good ding right on the lower rear bout but is only cosmetic. There is also a 4 inch repaired crack on the back and a headstock repair, neither of which are the best looking but serve their purpose and seem to fit with the guitars over character. These guys were student models and built quickly and cheaply for the purpose of being knocked around and abused but I find these type of models are loaded with charm and playability and no small amount of soul. This has nicely balanced sound with a lot of mid range honk when needed. Comes in a period correct case and an undersaddle pick up that works fine but of unknown origin. Thanks.
