Gibson Marauder 1974 1977
This guitar is no longer for sale (sold on 2007-12-06)
Price : US $910.00
Only made from 1974 to 1979 (did not go on the shelves until 1975) originally sold for just under $400
The Marauder sports the contoured single cutaway Lespaul-shaped body and a bolt-on neck with a head stock similar to the
flying-V's. Marauders were made of adler, maple, or mahogany bodies. The neck has a rose wood fret board with 22 frets and has trapezoidal markers. ( The neck with dot markers are made with maple fret boards.)
This Marauder features custom-designed Bill Lawence pickups sealed in clear epoxy, the humbucker is set in the neck position and the single coil solid blade style pickup is set at the bridge in an angle position. 'This gives a resemblance
to the look of a telecaster, close sound of a fender.' The threeway togle switch is positioned at the lower bout of the body, you can select one of two P/U,s or both.
the condition of the guitar is in good shape. dings / scratches from use of guitar straps 'Typical use and wear of the guitar'
The pickups work great. Everything on this guitar is original except the strap buttons. The Gibson case is a little worn
nothing major, I'm not sure if the case is the original Marauder case.
From what I could find on the history of the Marauder, this one is either an early to mid production guitar.
Great for the musician looking for the vintage Gibson/Finder sound, and for the Gibson collectors.
