For sale is a vintage Home-Made acoustic wood guitar. This can also be referred to as a tramp, hobo, cigar-box, tenor, Yuk, Uke, Ukulele, Slide, dobro, lap, steel and any other number of names but the bottom line is that this is a very crude but passionately constructed 4-string guitar. It measures about 26 inches long and has 10 metal frets. It has tuners, a nut, a bridge and an awesome tin string-stop. The majority of the guitar is made of 1 piece of wood with the exception of the top of the body which is nailed on and has wonderful rusty old nails. The guitar is actually quite thick and heavy for it's size so this is definately not made of a cigar box but seems inspired by the style of a cigar box guitar. It is in good shape and is well used with typical general wear. There is a crack below the back of the neck by the butt of the guitar where it morphs into the body (see last picture for a close-up). There is also a superficial split in the wood by one of the tuners on the headstock. Believe it or not the guitar actually sounds fairly good taking into account that this is a home-made piece of junk! I just picked this up from an auction on saturday and have no idea of it's history besides that. Buyer pays shipping fee of $9.95. PAypal, check and money orders accepted. PA residents add 6% sales tax.
