1974 Gibson Les Paul Custom Handyman's Special Black
This guitar is no longer for sale (sold on 2007-11-15)
Price : US $1,630.
Here's a cool old Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty up for auction. The guitar had its' hardware changed years ago so we're selling it as found and in need of some pickups and hardware. There are no breaks, cracks or repairs on the guitar. I'll try to describe it as best I can but check out the pictures for details and email us with any questions you may have. The serial number is 491XXX which dates it to around 1974. It's marked '2' above the serial number which means it's a factory second. It's got the 'Made In USA' Stamp and a Volute. It's got a three piece Maple neck with an Ebony Fretboard and it's straight as an arrow. The frets are original and in great shape. There is almost no pitting or wear on the frets or the Fretboard. The frets are the flat and wide style. The tuners have been replaced and the holes have been enlarged on the back a bit but not on the face of the headstock. The strap buttons have been replaced with straplocks. The knobs are non original. The pots are replaced as well. The bridge and tailpiece are after market but the pickguard is original. She's missing her pickups and there are a few extra holes from mis-aligned pickup rings. The nut is a brass after market addition. The back plates are original. It weighs in at around 9 pounds as shown. It comes with a nice old Gibson Protector Case from the 70's. The only other thing missing is the Rhythm/Treble ring. Shipping is $40 in the CONUS, $80 to Mexico, Canada and Hawaii and $200 to the rest of the world. No BIN so high bidder wins. California residents must pay 8.5% Sales Tax. Thanks!
