WOW! Up for auction is this 1963 Gibson kalamazoo explorer. This guitar is purely amazing. It is a set neck instrument in great condition. It was manufactured by Gibson in Kalamazoo, Michigan in the kalamazoo factory. There is minimal wear on the guitar and has never been used in a show, where it could be damaged. I used to collect old and unique guitars but I'm spending more time on the road than home so I need money and want to give these guitars good homes. The pickup was removed for identification and all I can tell is that the humbucker is an old Seymour duncan. I cannot tell what model due to wear on the back however there is a sticker that shows B-M. The neck pick-up is a mini humbucker, also a seymour duncan and the sticker on the back reads 1NC. This guitar was a prototype model and there are only six of them in existance today. All of the frets have been dressed and cleaned and all of the pots(two volume/two tone) are brand new. I have all of the original parts. The fretboard is rosewood on a 24 and three quarter scale. The guitar is still in great playing order despite its age. All of the information gathered was given by an old employee at the Gibson Kalamazoo factory so if anyone has further information on this wonderful guitar please send me a message with more info and questions are always welcome.
