Up for bid is my 1967 Guild Starfire II Bass, which as you can see is rather worn (or if you think like friend of mine you’d say “worn? No! It’s got character man!”) It came to me w/o a case but thankfully I was able to find a nice worn but otherwise ok New York made Guild case for it, ok what’s wrong: it has replaced tuners all the same kind but three are Schallers w/ an “S”& one a Gibson w/ a “G”, it is missing one Guild tone knob & has a replacement knob on the pickup selector switch which I hear can be replaced by a screw-on cap from All-Parts, it’s missing four of the eight screws from the pickup mounts, the headstock on one side of the back looks like it had a repaired crack that is fine & no big deal (I have 3 vintage Gibson Tbirds so believe me the Starfire repair is NBD & very solid) the jack was replaced w/ a metal plate but other then those issues it’s just very worn & has lots of dings & finish fractures & a sizable worn spot on the back w/ a bear patch of lovely old hard as rock Mahogany , because the finish on the back of the neck is worn off & the body so dinged up I had thought of refinishing the whole Bass but it looks so funky I decided to leave as is , anyway it’s still a 1967 Starfire II w/ two working Hagstrom made Guild Bi-sonic pickups that sound fantastic & has a very skinny neck with a nice clean fretboard & frets it also has the early bridge & brass saddles, this is the perfect Bass for a Guitar player or a studio or a Bass player who wants a classic 60’s Bass , if it w
