Up for grabs is what is left of a super rare 1950's Magnatone model 150 tube amplifier/extension cabinet.
The cabinet is in good shape for its age, showing only wear due to use not abuse.
The grill cloth is obviously torn and the handle is also busted. The 15' speaker with # 418 1056 221 stamped on the alnico magnet, has a couple of small holes in
the cone that could be repaired, it measures out at 7.2 ohms on my meter.. The amp is M.I.A. that means gone, missing and i dont know where it is!
missing the back pannel...
Please study all the pictures.
I had big ideas of locating the correct amp n' restorin' her, but it breaks my heart to see her sittin' gathering dust....
So i've decieded to return her to the wild..so nows your chance to put her back in her place...
visualize her potential ? think Grady Martin at Owen Bradley's studio ...!
just imagine the tone...
received this email from cubis n' couldnt add this to my listing so i cut n' paisted it..
Yes the rails will be present as the cabinets are the same.
The difference is the upper angled panel in the back that blocks where the amp chassis would slide in if the cabinet was configured for amplifier application.
The cable stay you mentioned is to secure the connection to the speaker.
They were fitted with long cords, usually 12 foot long for connection to another amp as they are an extension cabinet.
