Price : US $1,525.
1970 Gibson Dove guitar. Serial number A005547, Made in USA, with a '2' above the serial no. designating it a second although I've never been able to discern what made it a second. There was a common practice at the Gibson factory to mark a factory second for employee purchase however I don't know this to be the case or not. Guitar is in really good condition for it's age. There is slight neck wear around the first/second fret area. There is a bridge crack which I think is pretty common for Doves, I don't know if its the original bridge or not. There are the usual finish indentions but no bad scratches or damage. There is a small crack at the bottom of the soundboard but I think its in the finish and not the wood, but I can't tell for sure, its totally tight with no separation whatsoever, that's why I can't tell for sure. Guitar has an endpin pickup but never tried it out so I have no idea about it. The guitar looks really good and plays easy with great sound. I'll put new strings on it (Martin mediums) that will get you through till you get your preference. The pickguard has faded somewhat but is not scatched up. The two side pictures look the same but are actually both sides of the guitar. Comes with a set of pearloid buttons that I never put on as well as a dove engraved truss rod cover that I never put on. Also comes with case in picture that is the same color as the back/sides of guitar. For those who are not familiar with Gibson Doves, the back/sides are red c
