Ibanez Custom - Post Lawsuit
Up for auction is an Ibanez Custom guitar, serial #k771234. This guitar has the redesigned headstock that Ibanez changed to starting in late 1976, actually before the start of the lawsuit, but continued with post-lawsuit. This Ibanez has a 22 fret rosewood fretboard with binding.
The first four frets shows a little wear but no wear on the fretboard. The body has an arch top with binding on the top and back side. The lacquer has aged to a soft ivory color. The humbucker pickups are very hot!
There are no noticeable dents along the edge of the body, top and bottom. Also, there are some hairline cracks in the lacquer on the body. These are stress cracks in the lacquer coating, not cracks in the wood.
The gold on the gold trimmed items is badly worn and needs to be refinished.
This guitar's action is set low and plays so easy. The neck is fast and the weight is well-balanced. You get a humbucker bite with a 'grungy' tone. When playing clean, the pickups generate a nice mellow tone. This is a sweet vintage guitar!
The guitar comes with a hard case.
We describe all items to the best of our ability, but all items are sold As-Is. Please ask any questions you may have prior to bidding.
