Martin 000 16 Lefty
This guitar is no longer for sale (sold on 2007-12-18)
Price : US $951.00
The serial number of this guitar dates it to 1990, the first year of production for this specific model. This left handed sweetheart is hard to come by, as the 000-16 with the specs below is no longer made. There is one small ding on the lower bout that is barely noticeable in pictures, but you will see it live and in person. There is also some discoloration on the treble side of the fretboard, positions 1-3. Other than that, this guitar is mint. It has been lovingly cared for, played a lot, and you will know why when YOU play it.
In terms of specific description, here you go: 000-size, natural satin finish, spruce top with aging toner, mahogany back and sides, 14-fret mahogany dovetail neck, 20-fret rosewood fretboard, notched diamond and square (“snowflake”) inlays, rosewood bridge, rosewood peghead overlay, tortoise plastic body binding and pickguard, 15-1/8' lower bout, 3-1/4' to 4' body depth, 1-11/16' nut width, 25.4' scale, with black thermoplastic bridge pins. This guitar has Grover tuners, which I do not believe were “stock” for this model at the time. I bought it from the original owner in 1999, and there is zero evidence that the tuners were change outs, so I believe they are original. I will also just mention that there are dot position markers only on the correct (upper) side of the neck, as opposed to both sides, which we lefties see so often!
Comes with quality, but non-original hard case. I am not sure of the case brand, but it says “Made in Canada”.
