VINTAGE RESOPHONIC NATIONAL REGAL DOBRO GUITAR 1930s VINTAGE RESOPHONIC NATIONAL REGAL DOBRO GUITAR 1930s VINTAGE RESOPHONIC NATIONAL REGAL DOBRO GUITAR 1930s

George Gruhn dated this instrument for me in 2002. I contacted him in regards to the unheard of cone size of 8'. A quote from his email: ' This dates from the mid to late 30's and was made by Regal in Chicago under license from National.'  The specs of this are width bottom 14' top 10' waist 8' aprox. Scale length 25 1/8' neck width at nut 1 13/16', 12 frets clear of body (12 total), serial # A5075 stamped top of slotted headstock.  This came to me missing the biscuit bridge, tuning machines, reso cover screws. It had a homeade plexiglass nut and the finish removed. I applied a tung oil finish straightened the bent cone, installed a new Stewart McDonald biscuit bridge and new tuning machines, and put in the plexi nut which wasn't too bad. Strung it up with light acoustic strings tuned to open D and had a ball playing slide on it. It sounds great! It is missing some cover screws and the 10th 11th and 12th fret ends are broken off just under the 6th string. 1 medium ding on the back, the rest minor. More work could be done but its a sweet little thing all the same!  SHIPPING UPS GROUND- BUBBLE WRAPPED DOUBLE BOXED INSURED
