This is a beautiful guitar, in very good condition. The Bigsby is like butter, and the Filtertrons give this guitar the tone that only a Gretsch can have. If you have never played a Gretsch, you owe it to yourself to check it out. It has as distinctive a tone as a Les Paul or a Tele, and it plays amazingly well. If you can live with a few imperfections, you can save a lot vs. the $2000 you'll pay for a new one.
I would love to hold on to this guitar, but I've got recording and other debts to pay. I've got a '63 Double Aniversary Gretsch with a bigsby, so that'll be my Gretsch fix for now, but, unfortunately, this one's gotta go.
I've moved on to heavier music, so I've primarily played a Gibson Firebird or Tele Deluxe live and in rehearsal for the past three years, so this thing hasn't seen much live action. That's good for you, as the frets are in excellent condition. It is a treat recording clean tones with this thing, especially when you give it a little vibrato with the bigsby. Overdriven tones sound very good as well.
There are some dings and superficial scratches on the finish here and there, a bit of oxidation on the pickup covers and a bit of belt rash on the back. Most significant dings are two on the side, and one near the neck joint which you will see on the photos. There is also a slight scratch from a sharp guitar string on the headstock. There is a weird brown spot on the photo with the case, but it's just a reflection.
It's a black guitar, so it shows everything when you eyeball it closely, but if your face is more than a foot or two feet aw
