This is a 2002 PRS Singlecut. The fine details can be read on the PRS letter ...It has a doubled stained Black Cherry finish over a spectacular quilt top. The back and neck are made of figured lightweight S. American mahogany covered in lightly toned finish. The fingerboard is Brazilian Rosewood, the headstock veneer is Ebony. The neck and headstock are inlayed with etched Mammoth Ivory birds. The nut is a factory installed bone nut which adds in overall volume, tone and sustain. The graphite nut works very well with the trem but I feel bone is better with the stud bridge. The condition is near mint...no scratches, ding, dents etc. Im reluctant to call it mint only because it has been played sparingly and very carefully. The electronics are #7 pu's in both the neck and bridge. They are both splittable with the tone knob. And it has the standard 3 way switch. The action and playability are superb as you all would expect. The tone may be unexpectedly great. The #7s are some of the best pu's Ive heard. They have classic type output roughly 8 ohm but are more sensitive and clear than a Les Paul type sound. It can really scream but with clarity and definition, doesnt get muddy at all. Clean, it can do all those sweet tones and when you roll back the tone knob a bit, it handles jazz tones beautifully. When the coils are split, the tone is just as impressive, Its like a strat with a little P-90 thrown in. The clean has great bell like tones and can be really sweet and glassy.
