Price : US $800.00
Vintage (S/N 108017 -- 1948) Martin Tenor Guitar, Model 5-17T. Mahogany top, back, and sides. Nice woody tone. So far as i know, the guitar is all original, except for bridge pins (which are new basswood). That includes original finish. Although there are several finish cracks and minor dings, i have not found any body cracks. The 'major' defect is that a small piece of wood is missing around the sound hole, as you can see most clearly in the third picture. I have silk & steel strings on it, and usually had it tuned to the four middle strings of a regular guitar (A D G B), but it could of course use tenor tuning, or a variety of other tunings, due to the typical short tenor scale. This special guitar would be a great addition to a vintage collection. The original case, though severely worn and suffering from duct tape 'repairs', is serviceable and included. Approximate specifications are
Nut Width: 1 3/16'
Lower Bout Width: 11 1/4'
Upper Bout Width: 8 1/4'
Body Length: 15 3/4'
Total Length: 34'
12th fret action (base side): 3/16'
Shipment to U.S only. Alaska & Hawaii shipping fees likely will be more than that quoted; contact me prior to bidding.
