For all of you that missed the previous 1946 0-18 that just sold on E-bay, here is your chance to own the same model, only ten years older; a true pre-war Martin in excellant playing condition. This guitar was purchased by my uncle in 1936, so it is truely from the golden pre-war era of Martins. The serial number on the inside (refer to picture) is 63656. It was given to me when I was fourteen and I had the priviledge of learning to play on it at the start of my career. I have been playing on it for the last forty-three years. I have treated it with the respect and delicacy that it deserves, so there are a few small imperfections and the finish on the neck has been worn a bit by my left hand. The action is excellant, the bridge is fine; there is no seperation of the glue line on the lower bridge. Construction is sides and back of mahogony, neck of mahogony, top of spruce and fingerboard of ebony. The neck has no warp or deviation; there is no string buzz present. It has been remarked by many that it packed a pretty powerful punch for it's size. The pickguard is original. The case is included. If you wish to insure it for the full value, the shipping cost would increase.
So why am I selling this part of me? One word. Divorce!
