You are bidding on a gorgeous - and rare- Westerly Rhode Island-built Guild dreadnought acoustic electric guitar, model DCE3 with the factory installed Fishman Prefix Pro undersaddle pickup. Guild made three versions of the 'DCE' (Dreadnought, Cutaway, Electric) series; The DCE3 has maple arched and laminated back, and maple sides and neck (the DCE1 was mahogany; the DCE5 was Rosewood). DCE3s seem to come up for sale very rarely. Guild pioneered high-quality laminated arched-back guitars as a way to enhance projection and sound, while giving greater durability for on the road gig duty. These guitars retailed for about $1300 new in the mid-1990s (based on the serial number it appears to be a mid-1990's production, but not sure of the exact year.)
This guitar is in very good overall condition with a gorgeous sunburst finish, but is not perfect. There are NO cracks in the wood whatsoever. The maple has lots of character, with nice flaming on the back and some nice quilting on the sides and neck. Tuners are gold Grover rotomatics. Guitar has a custom bone nut and saddle and strap button added to heel of neck. Was just restrung with brand new D'Addario EXP light gauge strings. Guitar comes with very nice OHSC.
Setup is medium-low, and the action is very nice with no string buzz. The neck is straight and intonation is perfect. The pickup work
