I have spent the past 25 years in the music store business. I have decided to sell off a few of my personal acquisitions (not store stock...this is stuff I liked especially well and bought for myself...). I am setting the opening bid at below my cost. These are instruments that I thought I would never sell, but I am 'thinning out the herd' and moving along instruments that I don't play, as I believe that quality instruments are made to be played.
With that in mind, I have decided to sell this fine instrument.
This is my 2002 Martin OM-28V (serial #8836XX). The OM-28V is thought of by many to be the ultimate finger-picking guitar, yet is versatile enough to hold its own in a flatpicking session as well. The retail is $3899, and the 'street price' is $2899.
I got this in trade for a Gretsch. I thought I would keep it forever, but I have decided that I must let this one go as I am scaling back. The guy I got it from had two OM-28V's were identical which he bought after carefully trying out every one he could find. Of the two that he had, I though this was the better one.
It has hardly any signs of playing wear. It has a very tiny ding on the back of the headstock. I don't know how it got there as it was there when I got it.
The guitar has a beautiful grain to the Spruce on top as well as the rosewood back and side. A very comfortable neck.
It comes in its original case.
