A little history about Harmony and this particular guitar:


The Harmony Company was founded by Wilhelm Schultz in 1892, and is considered the most successful American made stringed instrument producer ever.  Harmony was based in Chicago, Il, and made guitars and ukuleles up until the 1970's, when the name was purchased and manufacturing was moved overseas (asia).
Harmony's were among the most popular inexpensive guitars ever built.  Harmony stressed value while at the same time providing a player with a dependable, enjoyable instrument.  Harmony instruments carried many brand names.  Some of the more notables include Fender, Valencia, Johnny Marvin, Vogue, Airline, Kay and Regal, but the Silvertone line offered by Sears is probably the most common.  Most Harmony guitars were considered 'student' or 'entry level' instruments and they sold more guitars up until the 1970's than any other manufacturer in the US and probably the world.  Although they were considered student or entry level instruments, the unquestionable quality of design, construction and workmanship has left thousands upon thousands of these in
